The movable telephony added 230,000 new line in January
The movable telephony in Spain added 229,903 new discharges in January until surpassing the 51.12 million lines, number that supposes an increase de 3.1% with respect to the same period de the previous year, according to the data de the last monthly note de the Commission de the Market de Telecomunicaciones (CMT).
The lines associated to machines (M2M) continued with their particular bullish footpath. At the end de January, these lines added a total de 1.479.653, a 31.6% de inter-annual growth. The total park de movable lines (M2M more datacards and voice) in Spain surpassed the 52.60 million lines, number that represents a 3.8% more than the same month de the previous year.
The portability in the month de January reached the 347,707 numbers, a level superior to the average moving body de last the 12 months. By operators, Yoigo obtained the positive balance more stop, with 21,819 numbers. The OMVs took control de 8,603 numbers; whereas Orange and Vodafone added 6,668 and 3,668 numbers, respectively. On the other hand, Movistar yielded through the portability a total de 40,758 numbers.
As far as the quota de total gain de new discharges in Spain, in the last quarterly (November, december, January), Vodafone was the operator who registered the highest percentage, with a 41.4%; followed de the set de OMVs, with a 25.2% and Yoigo, a 24.3%. Orange and Movistar scored a 6.8% and a 2.3%, respectively.
Broadband
The broadband lines presented/displayed an increase de 73,089 new discharges in January. Thus, the total park de accumulated lines surpassed 9.13 million, number that represents a 12.1% de inter-annual growth.
On the other hand, lines DSL increased in 61.653 new connections, until reaching a total de 7.34 million lines at the end de January; whereas the cable operators added 11,436 new accesses, until surpassing the 1.78 million lines de cable modem.
Between the months de November, december and January, Telephone one took control de 47.17% de the total de the gain de broadband lines. On the other hand, the alternative operators registered a 41.25% and the cable operators reached a 11.58% de the total.
Once again, the released curl was the motor de the wholesale market de the broadband. This modality de access added 48,677 new curls in January until surpassing 1.74 million lines, a 25.1% more than the same period de the past year.
Improvements in the monthly note
The monthly note presented/displayed in January some significant changes. The CMT has updated the index de population de their data base with respect to the population base de the NSI to 1 de January de 2008, with 46.157.822 inhabitants. Thus, the penetration de the movable telephony in Spain was placed at the end de January in 110,8 lines by each 100 inhabitants and the one de the broadband in 19,8 lines by each 100 inhabitants.
