Telephone one leans in Brazil
Telephone it secured income de 6,959 million Euros in the first trimester de the year, which supposes an increase de 7.7% with respect to the same period de the previous year, whereas the gross benefit de operation (ebitda has done) it in a 10%.
Between January and March, the net benefit ascended to 558.2 million Euros, a 2.7% more than the past year, although the operator emphasizes that, excluding the accepted effect de the cost from the 600 low ones in the File de Regulation de Empleo (ERE), who rises to 185 million, the benefit would have grown a 27%. Like in previous trimesters, the problem it is that the increase de income and ebitda is supported mainly in the business de the moving bodies and the fixed business de Latin America, although in this case almost exclusively thanks to the positive impact de Brazil, whose income grow a 25%. Nevertheless, the other two more important countries de the region Chile and Peru have reduced substantially their contribution to the income: a 8% and a 16%, respectively.
In the Spanish business de fixed telephony, the consolidation de the old branch de data makes the comparison more difficult. But it has managed to contain de partial form the fall de income by voice traffic (- 7.6%) and the loss de lines (28,500 less against the 97,000 than they were lost in the first trimester de 2003), so that the increase de the broadband allows an increase de the income de 0.7%.
In addition, as in 2003 it reduced its group drastically, the costs are handicapped, and ebitda grows 4,2. Nevertheless, the footpath de fall de income by voice traffic is inevitable and it will be accelerated drastically when it becomes general, in a short time, the voice on Internet. It will have much to guess right the operator in the development de new services to compensate this dynamics.
