PHON invests eight million Euros in the subsidy de routers
The company PHON has predicted to invest eight million Euros (10 million dollars) in the subsidy de routers for the connection to Internet to the users who decide to be united to the radio network promoted by the company.
PHON explained today in an deficial notice that the users who wish to get up to the network de wireless technology wi-fi will be able to acquire to router valued in about 60 Euros by only 5 Euros.
PHON promotes a world-wide network de wireless connection to Internet by means de technology wi-fi, in which the users yield part de their bandwidth in exchange for being able to accede free de charge to the joining points de the rest de the members de the community.
The PHON objective is to reach 50,000 joining points wi-fi connected the next autumn, and 500,000 at the end de 2007.
PHON finishes putting into operation a new associated modality de to its network, denominated “Bill”, that puts its connection at the disposal de the rest de the users in exchange for an economic benefit, and resigns to the possibility de connecting itself free de charge to other joining points.
The internauts other people's to the community, denominated “Aliens”, will be able to connect themselves to the radio network de PHON by means de the acquisition de daily bonds de 3 Euros.
Half de that amount will stop to the “Bill” owner de the joining point where the “Alien” acquires the bond.
A study made by company IWE-X reveals that in Spain already wi-fi are about six million users de the technology de wireless connection to Internet.
According to this study, Madrid and Barcelona are the Spanish cities with greater number de users de wi-fi, 805,556 and 708,333 internauts, respectively, followed de Valencia, with 319.444; Seville, with 250,000, and Bilbao, with 152.778. However, Barcelona is the city with greater number de wireless joining points to Internet, a total de 20,610, which 19,615 are private, and 955 private ones. On the other hand, Madrid counts or on 17,150 joining points or “hot spot”, 16,520 deprived and 630 commercial ones.
